In this exciting camp, children explore drama, music, fine art, and dance, but they also have time for fun, non art-related games and activities. Each week campers are introduced to art masters, and use a variety of techniques and styles in projects such as comic book making, collaborative painting & sculpture. Campers also write, direct, and learn improvisation techniques, which they then use in a live performance. Guest artists lead a workshop or perform for campers each session. During Open House, held toward the end of each session, parents, friends, and neighbors can meet instructors and staff, visit the art gallery, and watch each child display his or her special talents at a live performance.

This camp is designed to stress the process of art making, rather than the final product or performance. We believe that non-competitive art activities allow for positive social interactions and personal growth for every camper.

sport-adventure camp

Sports-Adventure Camp, for boys and girls, is ideal for high-energy kids! This camp incorporates instruction and rules for various games, while emphasizing fun and good sportsmanship. Activities will vary for different age groups, with more emphasis on structured games in the older group, and more focus on non-competitive play in the younger group. Guest speakers, videos, field trips and sports trivia will also be featured.

The camp will by supervised by Brian Rosinski, Director of Parks and Recreation at Kamen East Park, with counselors planning activities. A customized, full day program can be arranged between the Creative Arts Camp and Youth Sports Camp at the reduced full day fee, and is recommended for youngsters who need a physical release every day!

Join in for another summer of fun behind the plate! Teams meet in Kamen park on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45-7 pm, for practices and games. We encourage parents to volunteer as coaches, assistants, and team-parents for this seven-week program. Write us a note on your child’s registration form, if you wish to volunteer.
